SCREENWRITERS’ WORKSHOP PALUNKO 8

The last film from Palunko’s workshop won the main award at last year’s Checkers Selection (‘Cold Front’ by Uroš Živanović). This year, 12 new authors will have a chance to see the films based on their scripts shown at Zagreb Film Festival 2011. Maybe one of them also gets lucky and wins the first prize! This year, Checkers Selection will present ‘Snapshots’ (directed by Aldo Tardozzi and written by the last year’s winner of Palunko workshop, Dušan Vorkapić). Palunko is a project of Croatian Film Clubs’ Association, launched in 2003. It includes screenwriters’ competitions, discussions and workshops. More than 80 screenwriters-beginners have attended Palunko’s workshops so far. This year, the eighth in a row, the team of mentors will include Dalibor Matanić, Zvonimir Jurić and Tomislav Zajec. The attendants, who will be selected after a public competition, will have five days to develop their ideas for short feature films. The script that the mentors select as the best will be realized in production of Croatian Film Clubs’ Association and Propeler Film.
