PRESENTATION OF VILNIUS FILM SHORTS FESTIVAL

Vilnius Film Shorts (October, 7-10 2010) is the only international young filmmakers short film festival in Lithuania, bringing the freshest shorts and ideas from all around the world, giving a chance for the Lithuanian audience to watch debuts not only of the students but also of the innovative independent young filmmakers. Vilnius Film Shorts is a competitive festival where the best films in three categories such as fiction, animation and documentary selected by a competitive jury. Every year the winner of the festival is awarded by a Major Prize - 1km 16mm Color film, established by KODAK. This is a second year when Vilnius Film Shorts continued the tradition to organize a premier of the newest Lithuanian short films. Besides the competition program and the best of young filmmakers film selection, the festival presented two special non-competition film programs. Zagreb Film Festival, one of Vilnius Film Shorts friend, has prepared a special film omnibus ‘Zagreb Stories’. In return, Zagreb Film Festival organized the projection of the lithuanian short films selected by coordinator of the Vilnius Film Shorts, Rimante Daugelaite.
