The 8th Zagreb Film Festival was officially closed with tonight's screening of the film Circus Columbia. 'After 7 days, 95 films screened at five cinemas, and with around 70 international guests, we are extremelly happy that we managed to have up to 25 000 spectators in the cinemas and that the number of tickets sold was even higher than in the previous years, in spite of the cinemas' capacity being reduced by two times.', said the Director of the ZFF Boris T. Matiæ.

The main award, the Golden Pram for the best feature film and 4000€ was won by the Austrian-German film The Robber, by Benjamin Heisenberg. Actress Franziska Weisz was presented with the award by the CEO of the general sponsor Vipnet, Mladen Pejkoviæ.

'I have been wondering what this official festival pram contained. Now I understand. The film crew could not join us tonight because they are at home with their babies: you see, during the filming about 20 children of the film crew were born. I am very glad I will be the one to take our 21st one', said Franziska Weisz when accepting the Golden Pram. She also thanked the organisers for their hospitality and announced that in the future she is going to try to visit the Zagreb Film Festival again.

The directors of the Italian film Rita, awarded with the Golden Pram for the best short film, Antonio Piazza and Fabio Grassadonia, were not able to make it to the Festival so they addressed the audience via a video message. The Golden Pram and the award of 1000€ for the best documentary film the jury gave to the Italian film Me, My Gipsy Family And Woody Allen, by director Laura Halilovic, and the jury of the programme Checkers awarded the film Then I See Tanja, directed by Juraj Lerotiæ.

'This year the Croatian Film Clubs' Association (HFS) and the ZFF organised the screenwriting workshop Palunko for the 7th time . Out of the 12 stories which had been shortlisted during the contest, and which had been further developed with the help of mentors Dalibor Mataniæ, Zvonimir Juriæ and Tomislav Zajec, the following ones were awarded: the special mention went to the stories Služenje (Serving) by Felicita Glavaš and Naranèe (Oranges) by Danko Delaè, whereas the main award went to the story Dostava (Delivery) by Martina Bleus.

By the next ZFF, this last story will have been made into a short film, produced with the help of the HFS', said Hrvoje Laurenta, the Executive Director of the ZFF.
